The Chai Mitzvah virtual end-of-year Celebration of Learning and Life was held on June 22 at 7:30 PM eastern time.

It featured music, art, and memories: Chai Mitzvah participants shared thoughts and insights in video interviews, and multi-year groups were honored.

We thank Scott Shay, Chai Mitzvah Board Chair and founder, for his inspirational words. We also want to thank the facilitators and educators who shared their stories and insights: Jill Hekkanen, Phyllis Bigelson, Vicki Lipsky, , Rabbi Ilana Garber, Dr. Sam Leichtberg, Dr. Stu Miller, Barry Gordon, Reverend Tony Pappas, Lynda Brown, Joan Dickman, Sarita Felder, and Bonnie Rosenfeld. 

Thanks also to all of the educators who contributed: Jeff Korbman – NCSY; Ruth Malka – Mifgash Jewish Community High School, Albany NY; Miriam Gettinger and Nica Solomon – Hasten Hebrew Academy, Indianapolis IN; Abigail Halpern – Kadima Beth El, Portland ME; Susan Weis – Kulanu School of Jewish Studies, Margate City NJ; Rabbi Michael Pont – Marlboro Jewish Center, Marlboro NJ; David Heilbron – Indy Teens, Indianapolis IN; Naomi Tamura – Habonim Dror; Matt Bar – Barrack Academy, Bryn Mawr PA; and Marsha Fish – Epstein School, Atlanta GA. 

At the end of the program, participants lit candles to commemorate life and learning this year. We were so happy to celebrate with all of those who attended!
