Thanksgiving Reflections on Community: A Mussar Retrospective

By Reb Deb

I have been thinking recently about how important “community” is in my life and how being part of different communities impacts my sense of well-being.

During this season of gratitude, I want to express how grateful I am and how fortunate I feel to be part of the Chai Mitzvah community, both as a staff member and also as a participant in the many different programs and groups that I’m privileged to facilitate.

I remember back a few years to the start of our first Chai Mitzvah monthly Mussar group. This was the first virtual group I facilitated for Chai Mitzvah.  We started very small and I was concerned about keeping the group viable. With patience and much support from our wonderful Chai Mitzvah team, we have built our Mussar Group up and it is now a mainstay of our virtual program offerings. It has provided a safe community for spiritual growth and exploration for so many people across the US and in Canada. Many of our participants have shared with us how important it is for them to be part of Chai Mitzvah’s Mussar community.

Wishing you days filled
with increasing light!

At this season of both decreasing and increasing light, at this time of Hanukkah and the Winter Solstice, consider these questions:

  • How do your communities help light up your soul?
  • How can you bring light into the communities of which you are a part?

We look forward to our ongoing Mussar classes, the first Monday of each month from 7:30-8:30 PM Eastern time. All are welcome to join us. We hope to see YOU there! Click here to REGISTER!

Hope to see you there and wishing you days filled with increasing light!
