Step Up!

by Jill Maidhof, Outreach Coordinator

Four Questions:
Are you a people person?
Do you think you could get people talking about a topic, even if you weren’t an expert?
Do you have just a few friends or relatives who you think would enjoy Chai Mitzvah as much as you do?
Are you willing to take a new step in Chai Mitzvah engagement?

If you answered YES to more than one of the questions above, then we invite YOU to step up and  lead a small group.

You may be thinking:

Q: I’m no Jewish expert. What kind of help would you give me?
A: We have your back:
1) Click on the GET STARTED tab on our website to learn about how to choose and register a group.
2)  Our brochures are designed for people just like you—texts are easy to understand and conversation triggers are provided for you.
3)  You can watch videos to see how our staff led the same discussions you’d be leading.
4) You can find resources on our website in order to  learn more about your monthly topic.

Q: I don’t know that many people. How many would I need to have in my group and would they all need to be Jewish?
A: Just 7-10 people and they don’t all need to be Jewish.

Q: How do I get people interested in joining?
A: The easiest way is also the best – share what you’ve gotten out of your Chai Mitzvah experience. Assure them that you meet just once a month like a book club but they don’t have to read anything in advance. Invite them to  get a taste of the program by participating  with you  in one of our free virtual groups. That should do it!
