This commandment states: “Honor your father and your mother so that your days be lengthened on the land that the Lord, your God, is giving you.” As we prepare to celebrate Passover, it is especially meaningful to consider the relationship of Jewish people – in Israel and in the Diaspora – to this multigenerational precept.
