The story of creation is told twice in the book of Genesis. It is first told in Genesis Chapter 1, and then again in Genesis Chapter 2. Rabbinic commentators and biblical scholars have long debated if these two tellings represent two different versions of the same story or the melding of two creation traditions. Each of them seems to portray a slightly different relationship between humans and the earth. We will explore different aspects of these relationships.
